Europe has some of the most amazing shopping in the whole of the world, so we are here to highlight a few of the very best if you want to go on a trip with some fantastic shopping potential. From designer shops to thrift stores and markets, we know you won’t be disappointed with the shopping in any of these locations. So, let’s get into it and find out 3 of the best shopping locations in Europe. There are so many more to offer as well, like shopping in Milan, Paris and Berlin, but we’re here to just give a taster of our favourites!
London
London is known to be one of the fashion capitals of the world, so it’s no wonder that the city has world renowned shopping. Head to Covent Garden or Mayfair to access the city’s wonderful designer shops, go to Alfies Antique Market for one of the most incredible vintage markets you will ever go to or head to Oxford Road where there are over 130 shops with a combination of designer and highstreet.
Then, you need to make sure that you go to Harrods, as it provides a quintessentially British shopping experience with over 5000 brands including luxury beauty, designer clothes and some of the most luxurious food produce in London. You can spend the whole day in Harrods, including having lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants. It is just on the south side of Hyde Park, so you can enjoy a walk around the park after too.
London also has wonderful shopping markets, with one of the best being Borough Market. Whilst there are fantastic stalls and shops here, the real highlight is the food stalls, where so many local restaurants, bars and bakeries come together to bring exceptional food to the market, from the freshest fruit and veg to incredible cheese, delicious charcuterie, bao buns, Persian food, wine and so so much more. This is a must for lunch one day when you’re in London and you can even pick up a few momentos to take home with you so you can keep enjoying this delicious food and drink!
Overall, whether you want to shop for luxury flat back earrings or you want to get yourself a pair of vintage jeans, London is the place to be.
Barcelona
Barcelona is another one of the fashion capitals of the world, known to be one of the most fashion forward, cosmopolitan cities in Europe. One of the shopping highlights in the city is around the Gothic Quarter, where you will experience traditional shopping, from antiques to books, artisan clothing, hats and local souvenirs, so this is a must when you are in the city.
There are also of course the traditional high street shops, but for the most authentic experience, head to La Rambla, a boulevard which goes through the heart of the city. There are stalls all along this area of Barcelona, including La Boqueria food market where you can get a real taste of what Barcelona has to offer.
If you’re in the market for luxury, then you’ve got to go to Passeig de Gracia, where you will find some of the most upmarket shops in the city, including Chanel, Prada, Versace, Hermes and so much more.
Overall, much like London, Barcelona has a bit of something for everyone!
Copenhagen
Last but certainly not least we have Copenhagen, the perfect place for fashionistas to head to find stunning homewear, breathtaking fashion and the most beautiful accessories. This city again has everything from artisan shops to designer boutiques and shopping malls, so you can spend your whole trip shopping if you really wanted to (although it is an extremely beautiful city with fantastic food, art and culture, so we would recommend exploring this side of the city too).
Another highlight is Købmagergade which is one of the busier shopping streets filled with stunning shops that will give you a real feel of the city, which is also parallel to the less busy Pilestræde which also offers such a fantastic range of shops for everyone.
